Subject: Re-opening of our parishes in pandemic and epidemic situations
Date: June 13, 2020
Dear All,
The coronavirus pandemic is no news to any of you. Happily, the provincial authorities have now given the green light for us to reopen our parishes for worship. The context of the epidemic challenges us to reopen our parishes placing safety of our people first. Our Archbishop has given us a guide to accompany the process of return to worship. That is what the document “Worship Safe” is about.
The role you play in our worship is important. I am therefore by this letter inviting you to join me, other liturgical actors and counsellors at a meeting scheduled for Tuesday, June 16, in St Carthagh’s church, to deliberate on how to implement the rules and guidelines for the safety of all who come to Mass during the epidemic.
We ourselves must be safe and we must ensure that people are safe. Further, we will need to inspire hope, warmth and peace to calm the nervousness and uncertainty that has plagued our people because of the pandemic. I am counting on you to contribute towards an overall successful return to liturgical life. Welcome on board. Please, take time and read the document. It will help us walk together in this entire process
Thank you kindly for your expertise.
Take note of the scheduled meeting: Tuesday, June 16, at 6:30 pm. Place: St Carthagh’s church.
Bring along your face mask and make sure you practice physical distancing
See you!
Fr. Aidan
